Campus celebrations and events are a special part of life at Rosemont. 历史悠久的 traditions weave a common thread through the Rosemont experience from one generation to the next, while newer occasions highlight 学院’s ability to continuously 更新和适应.
Though campus life is often a busy routine of familiar faces and schedules, special events bring all members of the Rosemont community together. 学生们扩大了范围， alumni reconnect, and families and community members become better acquainted with 学院.
Whether welcoming new students at Convocation or wishing graduates well at 毕业典礼, we recognize and celebrate each other’s achievements.
方向: New students arrive on campus each August and become better acquainted with 学院 through a variety of informational and social activities.
召开: New and current students, families, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni, and friends are invited to celebrate the start of the academic year and 学院’s mission. New students wear academic gowns and are presented with their caps by Rosemont’s president to symbolize their entrance into 学院 community.
欢迎回来野餐: Hosted by the Division of 学生生活, this picnic greets all members of the Rosemont community at the beginning of the academic year.
宪法 & 国籍: In September, this day celebrates both the history and current applications of the U.S. 宪法.
家庭周末特色 啤酒节 : Celebrate the change of the seasons during the first weekend in October with 啤酒节! Enjoy an afternoon of athletic events, a festive carnival, and much more!
遗产: In October, Rosemont大学 celebrates its heritage with a week of events that mark the founding and the mission of 学院. The Sisters of the Holy Child, under its founder, Cornelia Connelly, began the first Holy Child School in England on October 15, 1846. Sisters of the Holy Child later opened Rosemont大学 in 1921. 这SHCJ heritage is the source of the mission of 学院 today, both of which we celebrate 本周.
感恩节的庆祝活动: An ecumenical service in the Chapel is followed by a traditional turkey dinner on this night before Thanksgiving break.
节日晚上: In December after 学院’s Christmas tree is lit, all members of the Rosemont community are invited to share a holiday meal featuring traditional Christmas, Hanukkah, 和宽扎节菜肴.
决赛早餐: Before first semester finals, students enjoy “breakfast for dinner,” served by College 教师和管理人员.
便士扔: After a special advent Mass, 学院 president, Dean of Students, and SGA president toss pennies at students as they sing carols on the porch of the Main Building, just as the nuns did at Christmastime at the first Holy Child school in England.
马丁·路德·金. 服务日: In lieu of classes, this January day is dedicated to service both on campus and in 社区.
SGA正式: Open to all undergraduate students and their guests.
百日派对: For all undergraduates, hosted by the juniors 100 days before graduation in honor 高年级的学生
开玩笑 & 手势弹簧制作: Each year in late winter or early spring, 学院’s dramatic society produces 喜剧:重要的喜剧或悲剧戏剧.
创始人的一天: On this day honoring the historic and current founders of Rosemont, classes are dismissed early for a special liturgy, followed by a luncheon at which service certificates 并颁发奖项.
学术荣誉日 & 春天接待: Every spring, 学术荣誉日 highlights the achievements of Rosemont students and faculty members during the academic year.
祝福: The blessing recognizes the accomplishments of the junior class, and acknowledges their impending advancement to seniors.
多元文化的节日: Hosted by the International Club to highlight the many heritages of Rosemont students through music, dance, poetry, national costumes, and food.
体育盛宴: 奖 are presented and achievements of the season are recounted at this banquet 表彰我们的校队运动员.
阅读日野餐: Hosted by the Division of 学生生活 on Connelly Green.
高级周: Members 高年级的学生 plan and enjoy a variety of activities during the week prior to 毕业典礼, including off-campus events and a picnic on Connelly Green.
毕业典礼: After a Baccalaureate Mass, the 毕业典礼 Ceremony is held on Connelly Green. 奖 are presented, and graduating students receive their diplomas from the president of 学院.
校友聚会周末: Alumni renew and enjoy friendships old and new as classes celebrating anniversaries of their graduation from ten through sixty years revisit campus each June.
